Mayo University Hospital

CT Unit: The critical infrastructure project involved an extension of 140 sq.m. - a single storey structure with rooftop plant located within an existing courtyard central to the hospital campus. The new CT suite connects directly to existing hospital infrastructure, providing efficient and level access to all patients.

HSSD: The project consisted of the reconfiguration of the HSSD Department on a phased basis to allow the facility to operate during the reconfiguration works. The objective was to provide 4 number autoclaves to comply with decontamination and infection control guidelines.

Safegard recently commissioned two V5 Intelligent Control Systems within the hospital campus. We worked closely with our clients & the end user to ensure the projects were commissioned & handed over with minimal disruption in the live working environment.

The systems monitors and commands particular dampers to open or close in affected zones during a fire. The control systems quickly and effectively interfaces directly with the building's fire alarm systems and Building Management system. It also means that all of the dampers can be tested remotely on a regular basis, adhering to current building regulations and best practice and significantly reduces maintenance time and cost.
