Mount Gabriel Radar Station

At 407 meters high, Mount Gabriel on the Mizen Peninsula in County Cork overlooks Schull Harbour and Long Island Bay. Roaringwater Bay and its islands can also be seen from its peak, as can the Beara Peninsula and south Kerry. It is the site of two radar installations operated by the Department of Transport, which monitor civilian aircraft in Ireland’s upper air space.

Our engineers recently completed the commissioning of one of our bespoke EMB Panels in the refurbished Mount Gabriel Radar Station.

The Safegard EMB Electro Mechanical Panels typically consists of the appropriate number of switches to provide individual or group control, LED indication for status monitoring and all necessary relays and timers to comply with the customers needs for fully or semiautomatic damper operation.

Interface with the Fire Alarm panel is via volt-free contacts which are normally closed and open upon alarm, the The Safegard EMB damper control panel will then activate relevant dampers to their alarm status. Safegard EMB Electro Mechanical Panels are purposely manufactured for any particular project to suit specific customer requirements
