The prestigious Carton House Hotel recently reopened as the “Fairmont Carton House Hotel” after the extensive restoration and luxury refurbishment of the main Carton House, Spa & Wellness Centre. Situated in the heart of 1100 acres of sweeping parkland, ancient woodlands, lakes and the river Rye in Co Kildare. The vast grounds are home to two championship eighteen hole golf courses and also contain the exceptional Sports Training Facilities which is a favourite base for the Irish Rugby Squad and international Rugby teams when visiting. The Sports facilities have also played host to premier league football teams while on tour in Ireland.
Safegard were engaged to supply all Motorised Fire Dampers, Volume Control Dampers and Intelligent Control Systems for the renovations and restoration. The CE marked and ‘EIS’ rated dampers supplied throughout the building have been engineered to inhibit the spread of smoke and fire. The Intelligent Damper System also monitors and controls some environmental Volume Control Dampers to help regulate temperatures in the building.
In a fire emergency, it is vital that automatic smoke and fire dampers installed in a building respond immediately to either contain smoke and fire, preventing the spread across the building, or open to allow smoke extraction to take place. The system is programmed to monitor and command particular dampers to open or close in affected zones during a fire.
